Hi,

My old beloved HD565 has problems since yesterday, the right channel has no sound. When I move the connector on the headphone, it comes back.

The problem comes from the cord, not the headphones, because when I switch the connectors the problem is then on the left channel.

Where can I get a replacement cord? A Sennheiser one will be ok, but another brand can be ok (it it's better than the stock one). I just don't want to spend much money for that.

I'm not in the USA, so I don't think I can buy things on the online store. I'm in the Netherlands right now, but anywhere between NL and FR will be ok.

Thanks

If in doubt, ask Sennheiser's support. I would recommend getting the HD650 cable, which is reputed to be slightly better sounding while giving a more secure fit, thus reducing the probability of contact issues. Doesn't cost an arm and a leg either.

OK thank you,

Can you confirm me that the plugs are 100% comptible?
By checking sennheiser's website, it seems that my 565 and the 600 use the same cord (same reference) but the 650's is different

I can confirm that the 565 Ovation works with 650 cables. I gave my 650 stockers to my friend Mike for his 565s after I got my Blue Dragon IIs. I also listened to them (the 565s) with their original cables, the 650 stockers, and the Dragons. I was never satisfied with the treble, but there was a tangible, if not gigantic improvement with the 650 cables.

Note that the stock 650 cables terminate in a 1/4" connector, so if you're wishing to plug your 565s into something with an 1/8" jack, you'll need Sennheiser's adapter.

I highly recommend getting the 650 cable and the senn 1/4-1/8" adapter cable. I just did so on my frankensenns (525 chassi, similar to yours), and the fit is far more secure, and the cable overall is significantly better quality than the 525-600 cable for about the same price.

I say try finding a used one on these forums; I'm sure SOMEONE has one for sale, between all the 580, 600, and 650 owners.
