Wow!! If that is true, then it's quite amazing deal! I'm seriouly considering to get them from Newegg - especially so since their prices on ebay are averaging $80+ (used).
In fact I was all set to buy them from ebay until I saw THIS

Is it me or are PXC250 (PX250) are the most underrated portable headphones? I know that a few most respected gurus of these forums absolutely love them, prefer them over the likes of Grado SR60 and Sony D66 Eggos, rate them "leagues above PX100/200"...

Aren't the PXC250's just PX200's with ANR (Active Noise Reduction)?

PXC250 offer crystal highs, great detail and punchy tight bass - that's plenty enough differences

I'm searching for a pair right this moment myself, so i base my opinions on Duncan's (mod of this forum and he even used them in his famous PCDPs review), Bangraman's and a few others... just do a search on px250, pxc250

Do not mean to be rude! It's all relative, you see,and he is known to have experienced A LOT of audio equipment and hence able to relate to a lot more/better then you.

PXC250 have listed impedence of 300ohms

? Is that true? Maybe thats starting to explain why they work as well as they do with their magic box switched ON?

Yes, they are 300 ohm cans. That's slightly misleading since the ANR circuitry seems to amp them a little, but nonetheless, they are indeed hard to drive to high volume levels with a portable like an iPod. They sound pretty good with a Xin Supermicro, though...

Oh, hey, 500th post. Yay for me.

I'm no guru, but I do like them a lot -- much more than PX100/200. Compared to SR60, I'm not sure, but perhaps; less of the "fun" sound, but the highs go up a little further and seem clearer. I agree they're underrated.

FWIW I've seen refurbished PXC250's at or near the $70 price at both Amazon and eCost at various times. Not sure if either has it on special now, though.
