My iPod stock earbuds just stopped working on the right channel. I've been meaning to upgrade anyway. I did a search and I have narrowed my choices to:

Sennheiser: MX500
Sony: MDR EX51 or 71
Panasonic: RP HJE50

I read that the Sennheiser MX500s have a short 3' cord. I normally carry my iPod in my pocket.

Any owners of the Senn. MX500 have any issues with the cord length? Is it measured 3' from the earbuds to the plug?

I have the MX400s, and I use it with my ipod with no remote. However, I dont carry it in my pants pocket, it is usually in a jacket pocket or something higher. I find the cord too short for pants pocket carry. (is the 400-500 cord the same length? stupid in-line remote..)
