I was hoping to get people's opinions on whether or not the sound of Sennheiser Momentums is balanced and detailed enough to be used for recording in the studio and for professional use overall. Thoughts?

I wouldn't use it for professional recording.
Most sennheisers are designed for music enjoyment, not creation.
 
Momentums have slightly veiled treble, so you won't be able to hear 'details' as clearly as when you use a studio headphone (which generally have more prominent treble).
