That would help the community a great deal, like im all for buying for authorized sellers but if u can get it cheaper why not right ( obviously if u see it for like 100$ theres a problem)

 
The main difference between the Brown and the Black version is that the Black version also has a QR code on the side for verifying authenticity by going to this link and entering in the information here:

I came across this one which was posted a while back and thinking of getting it.

Yes I have that same replacement cable. You have to however screw in the cable or lock it in a certain position for both channels to play as the design is a TRS and not a TRRS as on the stock cable for the 2.5mm connector. It is somewhat stiffer than the stock cable but is also thicker about 2-3x more.
 
I also have the Silver Replacement cable from that same seller and that one seems to be the same in quality as well.

Is there a replacement TRSS cable for the headphones or is it possible to buy a TRSS adapter that can lock into the sennheiser momentum jack?

Either way I'm going to get that cable then. Thanks for the input. I just have to try it out myself and see.

I just bought a new momentum over-ear. Sounds nice, and I also got an on-ear Momentum last year which I found really not sound nice. But after I detach the ear pad of both, I amazingly find that the speakers are the same size! But how the sound differs so a lot?

Alcantara and Leather have different acoustic properties from what I believe.

But have you heard both yet? The soundstage and the sound quality really differs a lot. I just think after you replace your leather pad with alcantata, the sound won't change a lot.

The actual 'speakers' (drivers) might be the same size, but have different specification.
Many AKGs drivers from the 70s and 80s look almost indentical, but sound different.
All Grado drivers also look almost identical, but sound different too.
 
So don't worry too much about stuff like that. You can't see the quality of the voice coil, how many coils there are in the coil, etc... which all change the specification and sound of a driver.

Which, if any, closed headphones do you like for gaming?

I really enjoyed playing BF3 back when I had a gaming PC. I remember really enjoying the Ultrasone HFI580's connected to my asus monitor. I also changed the audio setting in-game tho I can't remember to what, HI-FI,Headphoes....?

I thought the clarity was amazing and only really had problems with my ears getting hot. The padding on the headband could also have a larger contact area and the impressions they leave on your head bothered me but man was I having fun

I've tried the momentum and found them too mellow when listening to music, never tried them for gaming tho.

Every "s" sounds like it's capitalized and extended. I'm not experienced audiophile, but I've never heard anything like that in any other headphones I had (mostly cheap ones). Should that go away with more burn-in?

I think there are few songs which are not sibilant, and as I said I don't listen to vocal music much (currently starting exploring some rock/metal) so I don't have a big collection to test out. But when I compare the same songs to cheap earbuds it's not apparent, although Momentum's have much cleaner sound that's why I could hear it better. The biggest problem is with games or youtube videos, it's hard to find recording which doesn't have ear-piercing "SSS" sounds.
