For comfort, the XM5 beats the M4. No contest here, either. The M4 are ok, but nothing I'd have on for hours. This is a very subjective area and I won't extend. But...

This is subjective indeed... I had the opposite experience, could not wear the XM5 for more than an 1hour. Seems like the whole weight of the headphone is concentrated on a specific point of the headband, basically drilling my head
I am comparing XM5 and M4 and will return the XM5 for that specific reason.

So I have had the Momentum 4 since Christmas, absolutely love the sound quality, build & feel, but the ear pads are a touch too small for my ears. Haven't managed to find 3rd party pads pop up anywhere, apart from places like Aliexpress, which I'm not interested in trying. Anymore than about 1.5-2 hours & my ears start feeling uncomfortable. I've posted them up to sell.

I still have my Sony WH-1000XM3 which I have put Dekoni pads on to, remarkably comfortable & sound pretty damn good, so will revert back to them again.

Real disappointed the Sennheiser's aren't going to work out.
