, let us hope it arrives soon.

Well Sennheiser will definitely be at CES 2015 starting January 5th and if we're lucky they'll announce their new flagship IEM

Actually this is the better deal if you are spending that much - AK120ii for $1299 - there is also a dealer selling it with a pair of Momentum ON -Ears for a hundred more.....

I'm on my fourth pair since July and actually don't use them as much as I'd like to, for that very reason. The continual replacement loop, even though the whole replacement process is on Sennheiser's dime, gets old very quickly.

Yeah Sennheiser have been good at replaceing them without any fuss. Still you'd think they'd have figured out what's making it happen and solved it by now.

They are ideal for me sq and convenience-wise though so until someone comes up with a better universal I'll stick with it.

The astell and kern is around 1200$ in Amazon. . . I was wondering if Sony Walkman nwzzx1 would be good. . . Actually m also saving up to get a roxanne. . . Which have been kinda my love of life since it was released. . . So. . If the Sony works with both, I would like to get a Sony. . It also has the bubble upnp app, so my whole play list is with me. .. And it has nfc too. . . Plus android.. . .. So. Would it be a good choice?

The IE 800 and the ZX1 go beautifully together.

IMO,ZX1 can't ride the IE800.

IE800 loves power and ZX1 doesn't have enough power for it.

The ZX1 has no problem powering any IEM with reasonable sensitivity. The IE800 is no exception. Even my Clip+ comfortably powered the IE800.

I tried my friends ZX1 in the past and I didn't like it so much. For me power is not enough with  ZX1.

Maybe other users can like it.

But I suggest AK120 for IE800.It is better than ZX1.And good price on Amazon.

There are several reasons why you may not have liked it, one of which is the fact that you may have not have the volume high enough.

I compared the ZX1 with the HM-901, and it lacked nothing in dynamics or bass response. These are usually issues related with power. The ZX1 has more than enough for IEMs and, again, the IE800 is no exception.

Has anyone compared IE800's to AKG K3003's? If so what are your thoughts?

I purchased both, with the intention of keeping only one.  However, I have kept both for about a year now.
That should tell you something (It should tell you... I'm broke

).

That being said, if I could pick only one, it would definitely be the K3003.  I prefer it's treble presentation and, for lack of a better word, texture.
It has slightly thicker notes that I find more realistic.

Edit:  I do really like them both though

From what I've seen in my somewhat limited tests the IE 800s need sources with great dynamic range in order to shine. That's where most DAPs fail IMHO. Not really related to power but to dynamic range swing capabilities.
