Did I miss something or no one posted about the new Sennheiser IE400 and 500?

Very interesting. Apparently nobody reported about them, except for the usual announcement. Also nobody on this site.

Of course, I (like possibly many others) would be interested in a comparison to IE800/IE800S.

the IE800s are better. The highs are way cleaner with better mids. Bass I found the same. The ony reason I bought the 's' model was I lost the others. But at the time of having disposable income I was happy to lose them for the excuse of purchasing the 's' model. Also the balanced cord was a huge plus.

I have a pair of Andromeda’s and frequently find myself grabbing for my IE800. I didn’t realize how competent they were until I got the Andros. I really appreciate the fact that you can drive them with anything and sound excellent.

Are they more engaging than IE800s, which are quite boring sometimes?

While I always loved my ie800 sound, because of their bad fit I've almost got rid of them several times. It seems however that we're finally on good terms and I've been using them non stop. I found out that the spinfit cp350 (I bought to replace the original jabra 65t's) fit the ie800 nicely and keep the iems snuggly into my ears. They're on the small side, I got the L while I usually use M. They are oval shaped. Heaven.

The rha tips also fit snugly with the ie800s without adaptor. Without the filter on the tips, the mids sounded more forward.
