I bought the IE7 a few days ago and they are the most comfortable pair of IEM I have ever worn. The sound good, but not as good as I thought they would.
(I could still return them and get the Shure's for a $100 more)
How do the IE7's compare to the Shure 530 in sound and comfort?

For the price you should really be comparing the Shure 530 with the IE8. What don't you like about the IE7's? If it's lack of bass and soundspace then try the IE8, especially if your ears are suited to the shape of the Sennheisers.

From what I understand, the SE530 is better than the IE7, but the IE8 and 530 are equals (if you prefer precision get the 530, if you prefer bass get the IE8)

have you burn in the IE7 yet, I feel it was worse than my Phonak out of the box but the sound get a lot better after just burning it in for 70+. I am already using it and I will know if it get even better after 200~300 hours. I still have both so I can compare

Actually I preferred the precision and bass of the Westone 3s.

I've got both. I have 300+ hours of burn in the IE7's and I prefer them over the SE530's. I prefer them because the IE7 has more of a full size can sound.

U should let it have a good burn in before you decide for sure. Dynamic drivers need a good time to get to their actual state, where they will sound awesome I guarantee you. SE530, IMO, is not worth the extra $100 when I auditioned my friend's pair.

the sound sigs of the 530 and IE7 are rather similar, the 530 is better though and isolates far more. i do feel the bass is a bit more powerfull on the 7's, at times a fraction too powerful.

if you want lots of isolation get the 530 if you want less isolation keep the ie7

IE7s remind me a lot of my modded HD580s - definitely the most "full" sounding IEMs I've heard. That said, while mine are not fully burned in yet I think/hope, the fullness/warmth and bass seems to obscuring a fair bit of the details that I've heard in the other IEMs I've tried... (see sig).

@ selkin - Some people love their bass?

Also, from what I've heard - IE8s = lots of bass, without losing all the other good stuff

Good thread, all true. My 1/50 of dollar... SE530 is a good deal at ~260 street, if you can find the rumored ~275 IE8 that too is a steal and might be for you if you like the IE sound and fit (those IE7 need ~100hrs pink noise to be fair to them).
