How do you find the Fenestrated Sheepskin? Impression so far?

I've had mine for a bit. General changes, to me at least, is slight decrease in treble and soundstage, making the HD800S a bit warmer and intimate. Whether you will like this or not depends on your preference I guess. It's very comfortable though, abeit a bit warm, though that's to be expected from a leather earpad.

Has anyone done in in-depth comparison of HD800S partnered with Schiit Ragnarok vs Schiit Mjolnir 2? I've recently upgraded my DAC from Schiit Bifrost 4490 to Schiit Yggdrasil and am now looking to upgrade my SE headphone amp (Schiit Valhalla 1) to a balanced drive amp. I had Schiit Jotunheim on home demo last summer but found it sounded too sterile and one-dimensional with HD800S. So my balanced choices are Ragnarok and Mjolnir 2. I'd like to know how well do these two amps pair with HD800S?

If you are only using headphones Mjolnir 2 is a solid choice for HD800S but only running balanced. You can do better than Mjolnir 2 with an Eddie Current Aficionado if within your budget. HD800S really scale well with TOTL tube amps.

Buy them just for the comfort. I've only tried the Elite Sheepskin but no going back for me.

Hey guys... I am SO PISSED! I'm pretty sure this has happened at least once or twice to others in this thread, but TLDR...

I just got my Senn HD800S that I'd been saving up all my pennies for - for ages. Didn't even have them for 24 hours. I decided to take a look at the cable change out process and what do you know... it pulled out the whole jack, including wires on one side of the phones. $1700 headphones down the drain. Now I'm starting the repair process with Sennheiser. There's no way I'm paying a dime for this... What a load of crap! I was expecting a lot more for $1700. :frowning2:

Manufacturing defect does happen, just give them time and they will do it right for you. That is why there is warranty

You're right. I'll chalk it up to manufacturing defect. Still I'd expect more out of TOTL headphones. They sounded amazing when I was able to use them though. Best headphones I've ever listened to.
