One or two people said they would be WILLING to pay that. Not exactly the voice of the people. I wonder have they made up there minds on the price or is this thread going to dictate their decision. 

Doesnt really matter if the price was already decided or not.
If anyone asks how much should a HP cost, the only valid answer is "I may think about it if you price them under $500" (just replace 500 with ~1/3 of the expected price.) Same for any of those "guess the price" trick questions for preschoolers.

Will that work? Maybe. Maybe not. But it's surely better than shooting youself in the wallet.

HD 800 mk1 is too bright. 

not with my WA5 ... actually I've heard it with - WA2 - Hugo - little Dot - WA5 - HDVD 600 and 800 -

yea never really had a problem - only on very few recordings and even with those tracks the pros outweighed the cons

True Paddy, and for those recordings outside of excellence their is the LCD-X.
