Sennheiser HD800S Unveiled!

Open box from an authorized dealer?

it was "Amazon renewed", which are basically open box deals (e.g. returns etc). those have 90 day return, and it's been just over 90 days so no recourse... not really an aurhotized deal in the world of Sennheriser warranty coverage (they only cover regular first sales). The headphone (serial number and condition) are brand new. well 3-4 months new.

Sorry to hear it. Yeah buying like that has its advantages and disadvantages. Little bit of a crap shoot I guess.

If you are a prime member just argue and tell them that you will cancel your prime membership and they will take anything back, it is not acceptable to have such an expensive product break down after 3 months and don't waste your time with Sonovo as they will not answer, I will not buy another Sennheiser headphone now they have sold the company, I've tried to get parts for my HD820 from Sonovo 5 times in the last 2 weeks and apart from automated recognition email they have not bothered to answer me once, probably because they just hope I'll buy a new pair.

If this is open box from authorized dealer it is most likely covered by Sennheiser warranty.
Unless that dealer offers a 1 year exchange warranty. If this is the case the warranty, if any, is on the selling dealer. It’s a cool exchange offer but those that buy the now “used” product buy at a risk. Not all manufacturers offer warranty to the second or subsequent owners unfortunately but some offer that warranty to any owner from original date of purchase. Amazon and a few others are not offered warranty support because of their 1 year exchange policy

thanks guys. I will try to pursue this further. If anyone knows someone who does Sennheiser repair, I might invest $100-200 to get it looked at and fixed if there's a look cable or something..

Hey Ardilla,

What is your favorite set of cans?

Well I have 800’s for my open set and I have a set of Aeon Flow for my closed set…..but I’m a speaker guy 90% of the time….I do listen to a set of Apple AirPos Max for my daily 3.5 mile Dog walks. I think I ‘m spoiled on wireless cans of all types so being tethered is not worth the effort to me…

You're not a fan of cables? :)

Hi all. Thought I'd share these two:

HD800S vs STAX SR-009
https://www.headphoneer.com/sennheiser-hd800s-vs-stax-sr-009-review/

HD800S vs Focal Clear MG
https://www.headphoneer.com/sennheiser-hd800s-vs-focal-clear-mg-review/

I love the HD800S for many things, but it's not my favourite tuning.

Love to hear your thoughts :)
Thanks. I'm contemplating adding 800 S to my collection and I already own (and enjoy) the Clear MG, so it's useful to read a direct comparison like this.
