Hi!

I have a pair of Sennheiser Momentums. I am looking for more audio quality and less physical quality with cool metals and stuff. Is it worth selling my MOmentums for HD598's? I would be using my laptop with studio quality, I rarely use them outside so it is just for home use. Could anyone help me out please?

Thanks!

The HD 598 is an excellent can.  It is more accurate/neutral than the Momentum.  As an open headphone, you will get more and better sound stage.  You will have to give up the bass emphasis over neutral if you go to the HD 598.

Bass emphasis is not the same as bass extension.  The HD 598 reaches lower bass, but the Momentum EQ's up the bass it produces.

The HD 598's strenght is in the mids; its treble is a bit rolled off.  The Momentum is not as good or accurate in either.

The Momentum is designed to be a "fun" quality portable can.  The HD 598 is the third step up on the lowest tier Senn "audiophile" line.  It does that without being clinical or sterile in any way.
