I have recently acquired the HD558 in excellent condition for 40 EUR and replaced the rubber band inside the earcups with some damping felt. After some EQ adjustments in the higher frequency range, I truly enjoy them. To my ears, they offer a balanced sound with a fantastic soundstage and perform realy good directly from my PC, laptop, or phone with Viper and Rockbox. They're very comfy too.

I'm doing long hours at the office this weekend, all alone, and I'm using them all day alongside my modded Koss KSC75. Time flies while I'm enjoying my music.
