Is this a good combo? will it make any difference over my onboard soundcard?

I'm using it mainly for gaming and music.

I see the HD558 is 50 ohm and noticed the Titanium HD has an impedance of 35ohm. Can it really power my 558?

Heya,

You really don't need an amp for the HD558.

If you're looking for an improvement over onboard, look at a simple Xonar DG or D1 even. $30~50. DG has dolby headphone for your games.

Very best,

It'll power them. How well is another question; I don't have an HD558 to test with.

You can always start by getting the headphones, trying them directly from the soundcard, and then if you're still not satisfied, buy a dedicated amp afterward.
