Hey guys,

I am looking or the best gaming headphones for under $200...I have read through Mad Lust's guide which has helped a lot. I don't mind buying an amp if needed, but I know little about amping a pair of headphones. I have an MSI Z170A Gaming M7 motherboard that has nice built in sound (not sure on the details of it).

It sounds like the AKG 612's are maybe the best headphones under $200 but I would need an amp?

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

The HD558 should easily worked plugged into the motherboard.
The K612 Pro is fairly power hungry, not sure if the motherboard can drive them, or at least drive them well.

Check out the Audio Technica ATH-AD900X, they are only 40-Ohms and easy to drive.

Yea I have done my fair share of research including reading through Mad Lust's guide. I just think the AKGs are the way I want to go. I just need to figure out which amp to get.
