They're decent starter phones that can benefit from being eq'ed. Should be able to get 'em for $90-110 on ebay.

Dakmart always have pretty cheap refurbs. They have a amazon storefront and a website I believe. They are also licensed to sell B-stock from Senhessier, Sony, Denon and some others, aka it means you get manufacture warranty.

They used to sell HD555 refurbs in the $50s before people started catching on to this store and prices has gone up since then =[ but still cheaper nonetheless.

Careful with Dakmart. They're unreliable.

Don't buy any Sennheisers from ebay as they will NOT under any circumstance accept any headphones for warranty or repair if purchased from ebay. . .or so I have heard. This is due to the amount of "fakes" out there on ebay.

I doubt if Sennheiser is afraid of fake higher end phones (555 up) as there's never been any. In any case headphones are among the safest items to buy unwarranted. In 40 years of buying headphones I've never had to send a pair back for repair under warranty.

I bought them a refurbished Denon receiver. I can't tell it's a refurbished because it looks totally new! So far so good. But I don't know about their CS tho since my Denon is running good.

The $79 HD555 was a great deal. And plus no tax no shipping. I bought it from Amazon but I forgot the name of the seller.
