Still have an old pair of HD450's, is there a place I can find the specs for these phones? There are no specs for these on senns homepage.

I don't have them, only the original hd450 from old catalogue: 'digital ready' dynamic design, neodymium iron magnets, 20-20khz, weight 4.8 oz ...

I wouldn't worry much about published specs, my ancient 420 have 18-20k specs - yet sporta pro sound so much better. =)

Thanks guys, it ain't much but it's something, something else I want to discuss about, when you use your phones on a decent amp with phones out do you use loudness or not, opinions please. In my case I found out that loudness works fine with my speakers, Tannoy P20's, at low to medium volumes but ephasizes the bass too much on my headphones. I am listening to the music direct from the phones out of my Philips CDR 950.

It's been almost 15 yrs since last time I used tone control on speakers, even at low listening volume. Given that 'decent' modern phones are in general more balanced and revealing than average / bookshelf speakers, I'm not surprised if you find too much bass using loudness compensation on phones.
