Been looking at a pair of those at amazon for around $40.. are they good for that price? I've also been looking at HD 461's and Audio-Technica's ATH-M30/40X's... any other recommendations would be really appreciated too

m40x is better. (detatchable cable, easy to replace ear pads) - while the Sennheiser 429's aren't bad but the cable is gonna wear out. so are the ear pads.
