I'm strongly considering these. I currently have the HD202s, which have a really stiff cord that causes microphonics

. I was wondering if the HD280 Pros had the same problem

Not usually

I have had a pair of 280s for about a week and once I heard a noize and realized my head was making the headphones scrape against a shelf. Another time my 2 year old daughter brushed against the cord and it made a light noise, but not the things you hear with thin wires like the Sony ex51s I used to have.

Vintage senns like 414, 424 etc and hd25 series cables were made of steel, and very microphonic. I'd be very surprised if senn still use it on hd202.

In any case, 280's cables are supposedly made of copper and definitely not microphonic.

I have no clue why, but the cord is indeed stiff and microphincs result (on the HD202)
