I have been doing a bit of research on these and just had a couple of questions.

Firstly how many different models are there? I under stand the whole SP and not SP thing, but on the HD25-1 I have seen a lot of models with different impedances, ranging from 60 ohms to 300 ohms. Also how have the HD25's changed over time?

Secondly what do the different impedance values mean for the phones? Does a high impedance means it requires more power to drive them?

Thank you in advance.

The higher impedance versions are used for broadcast, you don't want those. Just stick to the basic HD25-1-II and you will be fine. The difference between the HD25-1 and HD25-1-II is that the II comes with extra velour pads and a bag, iirc.
