Sennheiser HD1000 .. ever heard of it? (Pics added)

I saw some guy selling a headphone called HD1000 ...first i thot its a typo but he posted clear pics.

i was thinking if this is some another league of headphone from Sennheiser?

never heard of it before.

well apparently its Supra aural ..seems very world war type design.

i liked the leather Buckle on the headband.

shud i audition it?

So some guy from SIM university is selling these pair of retro looking senn headphone. SIM has such a box?

They're based on the old HD-435 IIRC. Those springs are purely cosmetic, they don't actually hold the housings in place, good thing too. Duderuud had a pair for a while but I'm fairly certain that he sold them on. I think that our favourite headphone nutcase on the Ratheon boat has a set.

They sometimes go for absolutely bonkers prices on ebay, or at least people try to ask such prices. Sonically they aren't worth much given their tech. Really for the collectors only, and even then they aren't super rare by headphone rarity standards.

Money best spent elsewhere unless you want the dubious bragging card tbh.

Yeah, the HD1000 looks quite nice.
Its not all that common, but I have seen pictures here at head-Fi numerous times anyway.
