Friends,
I love my HD1 headphones and use them more than any other. However, the band is very poorly designed and makes for a decent but not perfect fit. If you think you can just "pop or twist off" the ear cups please read on as there are 2 small screws, with lots of thread lock, holding the ear cups in place.
Problem: The head band extends too far down and makes distracting noise if it contacts anything (clothing, jacket collar, baby's head! , etc.).
My Solution: Move ear cup to upper slot of headband on right side only.
Pictures: There are screws and you will need to pop off the cover and trim pieces. ** WARNING - I broke the exterior trim piece and the cover piece is glued on - remove at your own risk as this could give you some very "ugly" headphones.
Finishing touches: I will use a Dremel tool to remove the additional "hanging down" portion of the band. I'll post an update when finished.
