Sennheiser HD 800 Replacements

I wish there was a place in Houston that I could listen to Headphones. How do the HD800 compare to the HD820

There really aren't any? Houston seems like too big a city not to have any high end audio stores. Most of those places won't be headphone centric but they often have at least some nice headphones you can demo

Might as well add Neumann. Hedd, Final Audio, Spirit Torino, ATH, Denon, Sony, Yamaha to your list.

Meze 109 or HD820? what was the difference between 800 0r 800s. What about HiFiMan?
My current phones are Meze 109 Pro which are fine headphones.
I have not listened to HD820 or HifiMan products.
The 820 is a closed headphone, which I have not liked so I don't think I'll go that path. (Audeze LCD-XC)
I am thinking about the HiFiMan Arya Organic.

I still have a pair of DT 990 PRO go to headphones and used them til ear Cushing turn to crust. do they make replacements? They have about 4-5 food groups on them.
Dang, poor headphones. Why are they looking like that? I'm gonna call the police!

For your budget, I'd pick either Audeze LCD-X (B-stock), or JM Audio XTC.

LCD X (open) and XTC (closed). I have had no experience with their counterparts.

I thought JM Audio was bought out by Focal. is JM Audio Editions JM Audio?

You are probably mixing it up with JM-lab which ceased to exist as a brand in 2002 and was never involved in headphones.

I think I'm going with the JM xtc^2 in Brazilian walnut or should I go with the XTC-C?
