Hello, I am very close to buying dna stratus but I need to figure out all the details. And here is one what type of cable would I need to be able to connect my sennheiser hd 800 to the amp. And also what cables would you recommend if the stock one doesn't work with the amp. Thanks in advance.

The stock should be fine. The stratus has 2x3-pin XLR's, 4-pin XLR, and a 1/4" TRS.

Any cable should do the trick. Unless you have $ to burn, maybe upgrade your DAC instead of going for the cable.
Otherwise, if you're going aftermarket for cables, there's moon-audio, double helix cables, ALO audio, cardas cables, BTG audio, etc.

So the stock works? I have to look at the amp again because last time I looked I didn't find input for single end.

Stratus outputs both balanced and single ended. I have my W3000ANV's plugged into one at a meet recently.

Did you get the Sonett? Otherwise the Sonett 2 and the stratus have SE.

What do you means Stratus has SE, do you mean there is another version of this amp?

Forget what I said; daigo's picture says it all

Lol but what did you mean by se, just curious. Cause I don't want to buy it and then find out that there is newer version that came out.

SE = Single Ended = the TRS 1/4 inch jack in layman's term. He means you don't need to change cable, you can plug the hd800 with stock cable in the Stratus

Thanks a lot for clarifying, would it make difference if I went with balanced cable?

Not really. The Stratus is a SET amp. It will not be day-and-night different between balance vs unbalance, unlike bridged balance amp.

The main difference between the 1/4 TRS and the balance is the single ended output has both 8 ohm/120 ohm tap and adjustable gain. Many people like high ohm headphone (dt880/990/hd600/800 ...etc) on IEC standard (120 ohm) - only you can decide for yourself. For the HD800, I would play with the TRS jack.

Me: "Hey, that looks like the place that the SF Bay Area meet was" Looks at your location, "It is!"
