Hi! I can get hd 558 and 559 for the same price. Is it true the hd 559 is rather the succesor of hd 518? Has anybody some i formation about these cans? I have alredy a hd 518 and a hd 595. Thanks in advance.

Not sure which it is replacing but they definitely look better in terms of build quality. If you're on the fence about buying another 500 series, I'd suggest you consider stepping up to the 600 line. I have a 598 and 650 and can't be happier. At least to me, it would feel redundant to own so many of the 500 line

This seems true. The only problem with the hd 600 that it cost much much more here. But, yes maybe a hd 558 would not be big enoughs sidegrade.

I agree with @cossix, you are really looking at a sidegrade. I, too, would recommend that you save for a 600 series can like an HD650. It would be well worth the wait. Another good option would be an HE400S--not sure of pricing in your country, though. Just some thoughts, FWIW, and of course, YMMV.

Definitely a good pick. You'd be amazed at the amount of detail you'd get with a 600 vs a 5xx
