I was looking on the web at a pair of Sennheiser HD 555 phones, and the Sennheiser website lists their impedance at 50ohms (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite...ransid=newHD-2). The PDF link on the same website states that the impedance is 120ohms (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite...15_555_595.pdf).

I know they changed their specs a while back, but the same website (which one would assume is current gives different numbers for the same item).

I was then looking at a specific website (The Twister Group) http://www.thetwistergroup.com/produ...%20D17037.html. I e-mailed them the question...which headphone is it, the 50ohm or 120ohm version. They e-mailed me back and stated it was the 120ohm version, citing the "current" PDF on the Sennheiser site as their proof.

I think this website is mistaken, as Sennheiser is using the wrong PDF information on their own site, but I don't want to order it and get it wrong and get the actual 120ohm version. Can anyone shed some light on what might be happening? Thanks.

I had the same experience when I shoped at crutchfield, I order their 555 from their website, then the day after I learned about impedance and that I wanted a low number since I dont have an amp, I checked their website and low and behold I see its 120ohm. I emailed them asking if their system was outdated, they sent me an email saying they had no clue what I was talking about, a pdf of pictures of the box, and said the 120ohm was all they had in the system and wanted ME to contact sennheiser myself

i love crutchfield, but I cant forgive this inconsistancy. Anyways when it arrived it ended up being the 50ohm version. What I'm saying is, they probably dont know anything about their product, if you ask for them to look I doubt they will, its like gambling, just look at their return policy before you purchase. But from what I read on here sennheiser doesnt make 120ohm anymore, so if they move alot of headphones they might have brand new 50ohms.
