I currently have a pair of Sennheiser HD 660S headphones that I am very pleased with. However, their are times where I could do with a reasonably price pair of closed headphones, ideally without the need for a headphone amplifier (although I do have a Dragonfly Black and an Ifi Zen DAC I can use).

I can get the HD 280’s for under £100 and the Momentum 2 (wired headphones) for just over £100 new and wondered if anyone has any thoughts on how they compare for sound and fit.

Also, would there be any mileage in spending more to get some wireless headphones? I had some PX5’s but found them too small, so I guess I would be looking at the PX7’s, the. Momentum 3’s or the Sony equivalents. I use Apple products (Macbook, iPad and iPhone) so would be looking at AAC Bluetooth if wireless. All cost a fair bit more than the wired headphones but I guess wireless might be more convenient (although not maybe sound as good).

Many thanks

Let me throw in Sennheiser HD 25 as the third option. I like these a lot, even though their earcups are small for rather portable than home usage. If you need something larger, please ignore my post :)

And thanks for having our ZEN :beerchug:
