Hey guys,
 
I purchased the HD 25 about eight months ago and was wondering how much they benefited from a decent amp/dac. I have been looking into the E17 because it seems like it would be good enough for my desktop and be portable enough that I could take it with me. I also like the E17 because if I ever got a higher quality set of headphones(HD600) I could just plug it into the E9 for even more power. Has anyone used the HD 25s with the E17? How much did the sound improve?

EDIT: I should note that my main two sources will be a desktop PC and a iPhone 4S.

The improvement is not going to be huge, but the bass will tighten up and you may get a tad more instrument separation.  No am is going to make the HD-25 become more than 10% - 15% better because the headphone is very easy to drive and has a relatively high sensitivity.
