I saw these at BB and was intrigued (at the fact BB was selling Senn) first, but because my girlfriend wanted good phones. These are on-ear models...anyone heard them? They look open, like a Grado almost.

I've seen at least a couple other threads on the 238s that have good info. You might want to check them out.

I purchased a refurbished pair through Amazon for 1/2 of what the local BB wanted. Paid about $45 and they looked brand new to me and work great. Highly recommend that route if you buy a pair.

On my cheaper mp3 players and phones they have a pretty boomy bass, but with my very tweakable IAUDIO7 they sound very good after spending several hours getting the effects and equalization to my liking. I like them about as well as my HD595s unamped.

I think that they are a step up from your Koss PP.

If you need sound isolation don't get the hd 238 but take the hd 228 instead
