Well I went out today and got the sennheiser hd-212 headphones for 80 bucks and then found out I could get them online for 40 bucks so I am getting my money back and buying online. (Learned my lesson there) Anyway question is did I pick up good cans or should I look at something better for the same price or a bit more?

Any ideas would be great.

Well, do you need them to be closed? Otherwise you could get HD485s instead, or even a K240S.

Well ya closed would probably be the best idea because I want to use them when I travel and such. Sorry didn't specify.

If you really need the isolation, then those are the ones to go. Espesially if it's going to be an "all around" cans. Hope you like your music bassy though

They'll be good for movies and great for games.

As for music, it's a metter of taste. They aren't vey popular in head-fi simply becouse they are so bassy (mid bass).
I don't regreat i bought them though.

Instead of the old HD212Pro, one should also consider the HD205, K81 DJ, and with a small expansion in budget, HD280 and HD25-SP would also be in reach. Problem will be weighing between stationary and portable needs.
