Sennheiser Game Zero + Astro Mixamp Pro TR + PS4

After setting up my Astro Mixamp Pro TR, and changing the recommended settings on my PS4, my Game Zero headset sounds horrendously worse than when plugged into my controller. The input to the headset is getting 7.1 surround sound, but the quality is not good. Plus, my mic practically does not work. My mic cuts in and out, with an emphasis on cutting out.

Has anyone tried this setup and have any advice?

Is this setup compatible with each other? Are there specific settings in the Astro software I need to change? Do I need additional equipment?
