Would the ear adapters that go on the cx 300/400 series fit on the cx 800,900 series. I'm debating on whether or not to but one the cx800 models and i have a lot of spare ear adapters that are for the cx 300/400 models

No, the CX300/400 tips will not work on the 800 or 900 series. Even the (O)CX870/880 have a slightly different bore diameter than the CX980/985.
