I haven't found a review of them yet, just wondering how good it sounds, because the MX480 is getting some really good reviews.

MX480? Only know the MX470 and MX471 and those are earbuds.

This quote doesn't sound too good:
"The two headphones are actually quite similar. The CX 980s look like they feature better construction and they had a slight edge in the audio tests, but not by enough to merit the price difference. We'd probably recommend sticking with the CX 300-IIs and saving the money, providing the CX 980s' sound doesn't totally blow you away."

Yeah, can't really compare earbuds and canalphones, especially since dollar-for-dollar Sennheiser's entry-level buds have always been a much better value than their lower-end canalphones in my opinion.
 
Anyway, jant71 I wouldn't put too much stock in that website, at least because of this review comparing the SE530 and MM50iP: Shure SE530 Headphones Review - In-Ear HeadphoneInfo.com

The MM 50 iPs are great headphones with a great price. It's hard to beat them in terms of value. What's more, the SE530s actually didn't best them in terms of audio quality. If you have a strong desire to pick up the SE530s, be it for their fit or for their extras, be our guest; for the majority of buyers, however, the MM 50 iPs would probably be the better choice.
