So I'm looking for a pair of IEMs in the sub-$100 range, how do these two models compare? Are they even in the same league?

Edit: included the CX500's in the title as they are reportedly similar to the CX400's

i haven't heard the cx400's personally, but i can certainly vouch for the c551 as i just recently picked myself up a pair. For $65 on amazon you cant go wrong, i highly recommends them

Actually, the C551 are priced a little higher now, about $69, and the CX400's are available for $90, so they are both in the sub-$100 range. I've read that the CX500's sound exactly the same as the 400's, so any comparison of either of these against the C551 would do.
