Hey all, I am really getting sick of my standard iPhone headphones, so I started looking at some in-ear alternatives for $25. From what I found so far, I narrowed it down to those two. Newegg sells the 200 for 17 right now with free shipping while amazon has the 475 for $10 more and paid shipping. I want heavy bass but I also don't want the highs to be drowned out. Which one of these should I choose? Also, if I have missed a pair of earphones that are the obvious choice for this price point and my preferences, feel free to suggest other pairs. Thanks! -Baron

Get other, there are better iems out.
Soundmagic E30 or E10 is much better and my favourite is Sennheiser IE80 for $47, yes you read right! I got genuine IE80 for that money. PM if you want link.

Those e10's look pretty good. Is amazon the cheapest place for them? By the way, I tried on some CX 200s and they sounded awesome. Would these be better?

Get the JVC HA-FX40 instead.

The HA-FX40 is probably much better than the CX200 and CX475. No other budget IEM seems to have the level of detail the HA-FX40 has.

Imo the bass on the HAFX40 is great. Not overexaggerated but strong and natural sounding.

Thanks for the recommendations guys; I really appreciate it. I just ended up going with the HA-FX101A from amazon. I hear the bass is ridiculous and it doesnt drown out the mids or highs at all and they compete with $100+ phones. I don't think these have nanotube tech in them but from what I observed in reviews, they suit my needs best. Here's a link to these for $19.95 with no tax an free shipping: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007HIT0GS

Is that quality still maintained throughout the low bass regions?

no. hope you never wasted your money on the FX 40's. The mids are recessed, the highs are harsh and sparkly, and the bass is very artificial. Those carbon nanotube drivers are JUNK.

The KINGS of the Sennheiser CX line are the 215's. bar none. the ICONIC sound is the most audiophile sound sub IE line in the Sennheiser brand. without sacrificing that deep bass response.

these are it... http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-CX-215-Earphones-Blue/dp/B005EIVKLQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1360698044&sr=1-1&keywords=sennheiser+cx+215

I got the 475 and like them. Bass biased but a fun earphone, a decent thump and good clarity, usual V EQ which is not my thing. I also have the CX200 (I think thats them) they are a lot more neutral and I like that but they don't have the depth or wide sound of the 475. Neither comes close to the Sony MH1c for quality. But not much does at this price. The 475 seems to be on clearance in the big stores so you can avoid the fakes. The housing on the 475 is bigger than the 200, so the 200 is better for lying on. I've lost a chunk of the housing from one side of the 475. Thinking of getting some sugru to fix it.
