I haven't tried the 429 but I have the AE2 and I can comment on their comfort and sound quality. Bass was a bit lacking and mids sounded a little recessed but overall it was a pleasant listening experience. Comfort wise, these things are super light and the pads are incredibly comfortable. The cups are nice a deep and you don't have to worry about your ear touching the driver unless you have elf ears. Of the 4-5 headphones I'm currently testing, the AE2 is the leading contender for comfort.
The Sennheiser HD 429s are the bassier of the two. AE2s sound kind of tinny, but that's primarily because at their street price, they shouldn't. If you can get them for around ~$50, then yes, they're not a bad choice at all. Unless you like bass.
