Depends on who's doing the "refurbishing". If it's Sennheiser themselves or a very reputable retailer I wouldn't hesitate to purchase refurbs (if the price is right). If it's some fly-by-night on ebay I'd give it a pass.
It is refurbished by Senn. I cant make a decision whether to purchase the 580 or 595 because of the price difference.(from 120-180$) I listen to variety of musics(form classic to heavy metal). I've heard that 580-650s are laid back, but what does it mean by "laid back"?
Also will the headsave classic punch out enough juice for 580?
Thanks
I purchased a pair of 580's off E Bay last week, they arrive brand new and in perfect condition Yesterday, I paid $137 ( $150 with shipping ) I think they have a few pairs left, Here
I originally bought my Senn HD545s refurbished off of ebay. They showed up in as-new condition including a sealed box and all the usual paperwork. There was no indication that they had ever even been used, so either they were NOS somehow or else Sennheiser did a really good job refurbishing them. I wouldn't have any reservations about buying Senns which seem to be factory refurbished.
