The Denon costs 2x as much as the Senns. Do you think the extra cost is justified?
I listen to mostly rock, unamped, and out of a nice source.

Yes, it's well worth it.
D2000 is better than HD555 in most respect.

D2000 is the much better headphone overall. I wouldn't recommend the HD555 in many situations except possibly classical or jazz.
