Senn HD555 or Audio Technica AD700??

hihi,newbie here...now i own HD555,wish to upgrade...if compare 555 to 700 which headphone is more suitable to listening acoustic song,classical music,and some pop song...
 
for Audio Technica AD700 need amped?

The 700 is more suited IMO, and neither of them need amping.

what is IMO?so 700 more suitable?but this two headphone also have difference soundstage...for me soundstage is important to me...and any recommend amp for this two headphone?

IMO = in my opinion
 
Yes, the AD700 has a bigger soundstage than the 555. And don't bother with an amp, it won't improve the sound too much, I'd suggest you upgrade your source first if it's not up to scratch.

The AD700 has one of the biggest, if not the biggest soundstage even with headphones $100 more expensive.  It's one serious flaw is its lack of bass, and it is very noticable if you care about bass.  Other than that, it's a very nice can for the price.  The A700's have more bass, btw.

yes,I also looking for A700...now I'm using FLAC song>Asus G51>Steelseies USB sound card>HD555.May be will planning to buy a DAC and an amp...So that asking AD700 need amped or not...
 
If compare bass,555 or 700 which one richer?

AD700 doesn't need amping as I said, and will benefit more from a DAC upgrade, however amping should improve it a little anyways. As was mentioned, the AD700 is infamous for its 'lack of bass' which some people don't mind but a lot do.
