I got the Senn HD525 as a christmas gift several years ago and I really don't know anything about them. I ran a search and couldn't turn up much.

I've used them mostly for playing video games as I prefer the sound of the SR80s for music.

Has anyone had any experience with them? I don't even know what they cost new (as they were a gift).

Thanks.

I haven't seen any stats on these anywhere.

Here's a link to the old Sennheiser webpage for the HD525:

As far as I know it's the younger brother to the HD565/545/535, which were all said to have a similar sound. I have the HD545, which has a laid back sound similar to HD580, but with slightly less details, clarity, and bass. I've been led to believe the HD535 and HD525 would sound similar to my HD545. All these are quite comfortable and great for computer and tv use, although the HD545/565 have velour on the earpads rather than pleather. I prefer the HD5x5 sound to the Grado Prestige series, but tastes differ of course.

Scott,

Thanks for the response and the link. I frequently forget about the web.archive.org service.

The pleather pads do lend to a sweaty experience if the room is warm.
