What does everyone think about these headphones? I was eyeing them in the store and I've been thinking about getting some open cans to chill with at home.

Ugh, why do people always do that? A forum is a conversation. Technically this headphone forum should only have one thread per headphone by the logic that one should always search for a preexisting thread.

Anyway....

I really liked my HD555's. I modded them with a custom built cable for a little extra SQ boost, and I think they're great headphones overall. Now that they're pretty close to $100 (used to be $150+ when they first came out) they're a fantastic deal.

Well the OP has been a member since 2004 so.........

dogg, what's your budget? What do you have now? The 555's are a nice entry into the Sennheiser sound, but there are better alternatives.

Will order 555 or 595 today, HELP ME DECIDE!!!

Thank you for all the responses so far. DM, I really do not want to spend more than 100$ CAN on my next headphone. At the moment I am using the Panasonic RP-HT722S set (http://panasonic.ca/english/accessor...r/RPHT722S.asp) along with sum trash Sony earbuds, sony mdr-xd100 (that should be soon sold...along w/ the panasonics) and PortaPros.
