Well, I am one of the few who dropped the cash for the B&O A8's.
And, I must say, they are really horrible compared to my Grado 60's. Yes, they do stay on your head well (don't forget about the darn near ok midrange). And if you are buying them so other people will say how cool they are, nobody has said a word to me for 2 weeks while cruising the Chicago loop during lunchand on the train. I was just hoping for comfortable earbud style phones. Anyway, the A8's were purchased the day BEFORE I came upon Head-Fi and Headwise. Praying that the A8's will improve 400% with a CHA-47, I am going to buy either Grado 125's or Sennheiser 580's in case they don't. Would the 1/4" Grado plugs be a big problem w/ the CHA 47? would the Sennheisers blow the Grados away with their performance w/ the CHA-47? is that amp big enough to drive them? I really like my Grado 60's, and the only Senn's I have are HD56 (don't laugh). Maybe the 580's would round out my collection?! Input on both would be great. My system: MZ-R900, Kosher CHA-47, (and 580's or the 125's)
I really would like to forget about my last purchase......

Andrew,

i assume the kosher CHA-47 is the same as a JMT-built 'altoids' CHA-47.

i believe the newer sr-125's come with a 1/8" jack (which includes a 1/4" adapter). should not be a prolem with the JMT.

the JMT CHA47 is not designed for the 300 ohm HD580. with the 580, you'll need more juice.

the CHA-47 was really designed for grado 'phones.

the sr-125's are a step up from the sr-60's. bass and soundstage will really be improved.
