I received a Tangent-built META42 yesterday, and the amp is really great. It produced more obvious effects than the TAH 4.5V with the Senn HD590.

So I'm wondering...I will get either the Senn 580 or 600 to listen to some albums where I find the 590's to be a little fatiguing. My source will be Sony pcdp with optical/analog line-out and the iPod, alongside the META42 with the AD823 op-amp that will run off a 9.6V Plainview NiMH rechargable. Should I save $100 and go with the 580's, or should I just go ahead with the 600's? Does the 600 sound noticable better than the 580 just a decent amp (as in the TAH)? Will the 600 be even better with the excellent META42? I know this has been asked countless times, but I'd like a yes/no or 580/600 answer.

Thanks.

Get the 580's. I wouldn't even worry about a cable upgrade. For my money, that's a rip.
