Any comments on older senn 451 noise cancellinig headphones? I have a chance to buy them from a friend for $50US. How are these for sound/ isolation? Any better ideas for under $100US.

I like mine, but beware of its limitations. There is no isolation (it's an open headphone), just noise cancelling. The noise cancellation is good for taking the edge off of airplane sounds, road noise and such (and does a great job of silencing softer things like air conditioning, computer fan noise and so forth) but doesn't isolate you in any practical sense from things like ringing telephones, people talking nearby, crying babies, etc., etc.

Sound-wise, it's a pretty decent headphone at $50. Not super, but not bad either. I like it better than, say, a PX200, but not as much as my "better" headphones.
