Well...yesterday I put my 203.2 on eBay because I came to the conclusion that my 1212M offers a more detailed, less harsh sound. Id like to purchase another DAC. RCA outputs are a must since it will be connected to my receiver. Im looking to spend under $200...the cheaper the better. Can anybody offer me any suggestions?

There's the Zhalou. Or the Beresford TC-7510. Or you could pick up a 205.2.

I personally love my 203.2.

Ive been thumbing through the threads related to the Zhaolu and the TC-7510. I like the TC-7510 because it has so many input options so I can run more things than just my main sound setup off of it. Is there anybody in the states that carry it?

Ah, you should have put the Entech in the FS forums.

After seeing a 203.2 inexplicably sell for over $200 a couple of weeks ago, can't say I would sell mine in the FS forum either.

Thats crazy. I bought one of ebay and barely sold it here for $45 only a few months ago. For $50 there great, but $200?

Ebay can be nuts sometimes. I saw a Rotel RCD955 (1989) go for $300. Folks often end up paying more than the new price, for instance USB TV tuner cards can go for $20 more than the price on Amazon (Free shipping) I recently bought a Nilkko TRM 210 (mid 70s) integrated Amp for $30 but have seen others advertising them for $200+

There really is no rhyme nor reason, plus people get drawn into stupid bidding wars even when there are 20 other identical items up for sale. I once saw a PA2V2 go for $150.

Well, they were $300 when new, albeit in 2000.

I don't think you'll find a better DAC / output stage than the E-MU 1212M for under $200. If you do, let us know, but IMO the next range of DACs starts in the $700+ range. Anything less probably won't be much of an upgrade.

x2... not sure what it is but the street value of these DACs can vary greatly.

I think I'm the guy who bought BadassBob's 203.2. Didn't know it until I read this thread.

I'm gonna compare it to my SRC2496 and see what I think.

yeah. you have to get into stuff like the stello da100, lavry da10, benchmark dac1, monarchy m24 to do much better than the 1212m. don't buy a new component for the sake of buying a new component! the e-mu card is great. just make sure it's far away from any video cards, soooo much interference...
