The woman who handles my company payroll is married to a Rastafarian (SP) musician from the island of St. Vincent. He has a regular day job, but has just self produced a low budget CD of his own Calypso/Reggae tunes where he sings and plays most of the instruments himself.

She just gave me a copy of his CD and it's good. Really good.

It surprised the hell out of me actually.

Does anyone know of websites/organizations which market independent CD's on the web?

I think this CD has potential.

Yes, MP3.com actually does a pretty nice job of selling independent artist stuff.. Jack at our office picked up some techno band's CD, and MP3.com printed it, made a nice jewel case label, CD label, music in standard CD format as well as data mp3 format, along with a little multi-media bio of the band on the CD.. phew..

And I believe the band gets a 50/50 split with them. Not bad.. after all, they don't have to stock any of the CDs or deal with the distribution (the band that is).
