So it seems that all the selector switches I've found will accept 2 inputs (or more) and provide one output. Maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way but here is what I'm trying to do:

Laptop (optical)-> Zero DAC (rca jacks) | -> speakers
Laptop (optical)-> Zero DAC (rca jacks) | -> LD I+ -> headphones

So I am wanting a switch that will allow me to either drive the output from the DAC to the LD amp OR the speakers directly, currently I have to manually plug/unplug.

I'm sure this exists but I'm not sure exactly what it would be called.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Just grabbed a switch from Radio Shack and the guy said he didn't know if it would work "backwards" brought it home and bada-bing! Works great!

I'm assuming this would not hurt any of my audio equipment?

Thank you!!!

It shouldn't be a problem if only one device is on at a time.

Not sure why this is so groundbreaking to me, I've been telling everyone about it (getting blank stares)

This may be overkill for you, with 6 choices, but this is an input/output selector that I've been using for about a year...it's not electronic, so there's no added noise, and from what I can tell, there has been absolutely no degradation of sound quality. For you, connect the Zero RCA to the selector(switch 1), then amp/speakers(switches 2/3) to 2 other RCA pairs, and you can pick which inputs/outputs you want active. So just pick 1/2 for Zero->amp, and so on...This really works if you decide to add on other equipment later on (either input or output)...this sounds like a sales pitch, I'm well aware, but in reality I just really like the product, most other splitters I've tried had some sort of problem....
