I currently own an RWAK100 with Shure 846 IEMs. I have the stock cable and a Double Helix.

I really like the sound of my unit although I feel that the Double Helix cable, while better than stock, suffers from inarticulate bass.

I want to upgrade for the following reasons:
1) gain more storage
2) better UI (original AK UI is clunky and has poor display)
3) improve sound quality (important but almost a bonus compared to the other 2)

I am an audiophile with a high end system at home and only listen to my AK while taking walks or during vacations. It's been hard to justify upgrading but lately I've been walking a lot and, well, it's been a while and I want to treat myself.

While I've reading the threads here, I have some questions if you guys don't mind answering:

1) is it possible to get a balanced cable for my 846? If so, where?
2) somewhat related to above, is there a cable that is better than Double Helix for bass?
3) would the 240ss be a very noticeable upgrade over my modded AK100?
4) is the JH Roxanne of similar quality to my Shure 846's where it's a subjective thing or are they in a different league?
5) is the 240ss too heavy to carry around in a pocket?

Thanks in advance for answers or advice!

What are you after?

Do you like it musical or are you going the analytical route?

For my taste the pono player was much more musical and spacious than ak100 (first gen) or ibasso dx90... .

I think ui is okay, it also has more storage...
