Greetings!

I am looking for a pair of headphones for use while commuting and in the office so I want maximum isolation and minimum leakage - therefore closed.

IEMs are out of the question because I 1) like to keep my ears warm and 2) find IEMs to be extremely uncomfortable so the phones must be circumaural.

With powerful and articulate bass and mids unamped (mostly listen to rock and bass-heavy DnB)

Easy-to-drive because I will not be using them with an amp (source = iPhone)

Am so far on the track of ATH-ES7/EWS9 and the Ultrasone HFI-580 but have no chance to audition either.

Thanks in advance

Ultrasone HFI-780

It has some really punchy bass and is fantastic with rock. It is a really fun headphone to listen to. It also isolates well and is portable. You don't need an amp. The only problem is that the cord is kind long. You could just wrap some of it up or:

Even better: HFI-780 with recable by s2audio. I haven't heard the HFI-780 with recable but many claim that it smooths out the highs a bit. It also makes the cable a little shorter.
